Wedding trends you’ll love

17th Dec 2020

After a challenging year, there’s no doubt that when weddings can be hosted again we’re all going to saviour each and every one. Never again will we be too shy to dance or deny ourselves that slice of cake!  However weddings look in the future, we think there’ll be some elements that will be more important than ever:

Shopping Local

Couples looking to support their venue’s local businesses will be thrilled at the range of suppliers available in Yorkshire.

If you want to support Yorkshire based businesses that are available on our doorstep then we have plenty of recommendations including Little Somboon kitchen, Coe Catering, musician Abi Alton, Rave Fireworks, Amy George Make-up artist, Little Pearl Bridal Boutique and a whole host more. We also recommend the fantastic local photographers that are regularly featured on our social media pages including Dominic Wright Photography, Amy B Photography, Little Sixpence Photography, Anoif Photography and Moss Wedding films.

Extravagant Entertainment

If you want to make your wedding day even bigger and more eccentric after lockdown, you could turn to more unconventional forms of entertainment to stand out and create fun, memorable experiences for your guests.

Palm and tarot readers have seen a surge in popularity along with interactive experiences such as walkabout performances, street artists sketching guests, large lawn games, circus performers and street magicians. Why not hire walkabout entertainers for the afternoon to give your guests chance to mingle while creating magical moments they’ll cherish forever?

Sustainability

Are you someone who is conscious about sustainability and wants to keep any waste to a minimum? You’ll be happy to know weddings in 2021 and 2022 are becoming more environmentally friendly!

If you want to follow the trend and create a sustainable wedding, we recommend using local vendors and businesses. This helps cut down your carbon footprint. Use locally sourced produce on your menus. Choose eco-friendly or recycled wedding décor and bio-degradable confetti. Why not also use plants and other items to decorate the wedding and reception area? These can be re-potted and re-purposed after the wedding?

Have you been inspired by these wedding trends? We have availability for weddings big and small in 2022. So, whether you’re looking to hop on to any of the upcoming trends or you’d rather go against the grain and have your wedding completely your way, please get in touch! We’ll be happy to help.
