We will be swapping wedding dresses for cycling helmets on Sunday 9 June 2019 with our third Yorkshire Mountain Bike Marathon. The event is in partnership with Northern Ride. It has sponsorship from Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors, The Edge and Russell Group Groundcare. The event is highly-anticipated in the mountain biking world as it gives riders the chance to experience routes usually not accessible to the public for one day only. Entries for the race this year have already exceeded the number of applicants for the race in 2018. We look forward to growing this challenge every year going forward!
Unridden natural trails have been developed by Northern Ride and surround Birdsall. The route takes in our spectacular setting and beautiful gardens and grounds.
Entrants came from around the world to take part in the 25, 40 and 80km routes last year including national level mountain bike racers who had previously completed international challenges such as the Cape Epic in South Africa and the Trans-Alps.

So much hard work goes into the event, especially from Northern Ride, the bike shop based in Malton town centre. The route takes in natural terrain including single track, forest descents and even our twelfth century monastery.
