We are delighted to be welcoming the internationally acclaimed Echo Vocal Ensemble to Birdsall House for a concert this Christmas 2022. They are giving us a very special performance celebrating the winter solstice. ‘Chasing the Night’ will take you on a musical journey across the Northern Hemisphere. Their music follows dusk as it falls in each country. Catch these stunning vocalists here at Birdsall following performances at Kings Place, London and before they head to Sadler’s Wells next Spring.
With a sound described as “sparkling, poised and powerful” (The Arts Desk), the twelve singers of Echo under conductor Sarah Latto will explore the magic, myth and mystery of the depths of winter through music. Alongside traditional carols, the programme features pieces by Poulenc, Britten and Rachmaninov alongside vocal music from Canada and Iceland.
Get into the Christmas spirit with a wonderful evening of music from Echo. You’ll also see Birdsall decorated for Christmas and enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. It’s the perfect start to your Christmas festivities!
