Let’s Dance!

13th Aug 2020

While the most memorable part of any wedding day is the happy couple exchanging vows and starting their journey into married life together, many people often remember the night time entertainment the most too.

There are so many different types of wedding entertainment out there it can be difficult to pick just one style. You might consider an acoustic singer, a full six-piece jazz band or wedding DJ. Whatever style you choose should work around your big day and bring the whole party together.

Here are some of our recommendations from previous weddings and events at Birdsall House:

Abi Alton

Abi Alton

Abi Alton is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Guisborough, North Yorkshire. She has played everything from theatre to the infamous G-A-Y Heaven in London supporting pop artist Ellie Goulding. Abi provides beautifully soft vocals, perfect for the reception or your first dance as a married couple. Abi is classically trained in piano as well as frequently accompanying herself on guitar so has a range of different sounds to make your wedding day as special as possible.

If you would like to find out more about Abi or send a booking enquiry, her website can be found here.

Alligator Gumbo

We love Alligator Gumbo, a Leeds-based 7 piece Jazz band. They specialise in jazz from the New Orleans Swing/Jazz era of the roaring 20s. They’re able to keep this unique sound and style in all their renditions of many popular songs from this time and place and are guaranteed to get the whole party swinging! Our recommended bands are versatile enough to be able to provide wedding ceremony music including solo piano/violin and trumpet fanfare, juggling ad circus entertainment for throughout the day and a jazz trio for dining. So whatever your event, Alligator Gumbo can definitely provide a unique sound for any part of the day!

If you’d like to see them in action or make an enquiry, you can follow this link to their website or email on alligatorgumbo@gmail.com.

Have you chosen your band, singer or DJ but are still struggling to decide on which songs you’d like to be played? Why not ask your guests for song requests on their invitations? That way, they feel more involved in the big day and you’re guaranteed to fill the dancefloor!
