Whether joining us for winter partridge and pheasant shooting or summer clay pigeon shooting, guests enjoy not only the thrill of the sport across Birdsall Estate but also the comfort of being welcomed as friends into a historic family home where good company, fine food and memorable sport go hand in hand.
Clay Days
During the summer months, Birdsall Estate comes alive with expertly run simulated clay pigeon shooting days, hosted by EJ Churchill and Hazelbank Shooting. Taking full advantage of the estate’s exceptional topography, these summer days replicate the thrill of winter live game shoots, whilst using clay traps. Guests are welcomed to Birdsall with coffee, bacon butties and a briefing before heading out. Lunch is served back at the house before the afternoon drives, concluding the day with tea and cake
Suitable for novices and seasoned shooters alike, as well as corporate away days, team-building days, or even stag and hen dos, the Hazelbank team ensure everybody enjoys a memorable shooting experience at Birdsall. Accommodation and dinner are also available at Birdsall for those wishing to extend their stay.

Situated in the Yorkshire Wolds, Birdsall Estate is a family-run, award-winning estate with over 500 years of history. The estate’s sweeping chalk valleys provide a stunning and challenging landscape for game shooting from October’s partridge drives to mixed pheasant and partridge shoots through February.

After a long day’s shooting in the fresh Yorkshire air, retreating to Birdsall for a delicious dinner in the Dining Room and an overnight stay is the perfect conclusion to a wonderful day out. Nine beautifully renovated ensuite bedrooms provide space to relax and recharge before heading down for dinner, with some featuring original Thomas Chippendale furniture. This is not a hotel stay, but a warm invitation into our family home, where every guest is welcomed with care and warmth.
