At Birdsall, we offer a unique experience by booking only one wedding per weekend, allowing you to enjoy the venue not only on your big day but also the night before. Sophia, her mother, and her seven bridesmaids arrived on Friday, immersing themselves in the local charm by dining at a nearby country pub before returning to our luxurious bedrooms. Located just five miles from Malton, Yorkshire’s food capital, the wedding party had plenty of delicious options for their evening meal.
The House was adorned with exquisite floral arrangements prepared by Natasha Coustol Floral Designs, enhancing the beauty of the venue when Sophia and her loved ones woke up on the big day. Velvet May Venue Styling also contributed their incredible touch, perfectly reflecting the couple’s unique style.
On Saturday, Makeup Artist Amy George and Hair Stylist Emily Hawkes arrived early to make sure everyone looked their best. The wedding party enjoyed a delightful breakfast of smoked salmon, eggs, croissants, and fruit in the intimate dining room of Birdsall House. After a toast with champagne and a light lunch in the bridal suite, guests started to arrive. Sophia and Charlie exchanged vows in the elegant dining room.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed reception drinks amidst our enchanting twelfth-century ruins, capturing beautiful memories through wedding photographs. The sounds of High Row Music filled the air, and The Hog & Apple Food Co. served a delectable wedding breakfast. The couple chose to dine in a marquee within the picturesque gardens, skillfully arranged by Inspired Event Structures. Our ballroom is also available for smaller weddings.
The evening was filled with dancing and laughter. Guests stayed in nearby accommodation at Langton Hall and within the house itself. Charlie and Sophia truly made the most of the house and grounds, creating cherished memories.
